At first I think of NEW YORK CITY (salsa commercial) and then think only in New York can something like this happen then California comes to mind!

If you have a gang gathering on your property making threats to you and your family, why in the world would anyone not respond to defend.
Is it such an issue that there had to be more then a show of force and threats? the paper mentioned it has to be force against force.

WPIC 16.07 Justifiable Homicide—Actual Danger Not Necessary

A person is entitled to act on appearances in defending [himself][herself][another], if that person believes in good faith and on reasonable grounds that [he][she][another] is in actual danger of great personal injury, although it afterwards might develop that the person was mistaken as to the extent of the danger.
Actual danger is not necessary for a homicide to be justifiable.

House Bill 571, which was introduced by Joe Uecker, 66th District Representative, and is co sponsored by 30 other representatives, would amend section 2923.126 of the Ohio Revised Code. The law would not allow private employers to prohibit a concealed carry permit holder from storing the employee's handgun in a locked motor vehicle on the employer's premises. Any current employer policy prohibiting such would have to be amended.

West Virginia and Wyoming have signed a reciprocity agreement as have Delaware and South Carolina. WV has updated their listing while WY has not. DE has updated their listing adding SC but SC has not updated their official list. WY and SC are two of the slowest states in updating their lists.
I have heard from the Connecticut DEP who oversees their State Parks and Forests. There is wording in their Admin Rules about firearms that could have many different meanings. Handgunlaw.us has to go with what those in charge state the rules mean. I talked to Sgt Tomassone and he did follow up with something in writing. Below is the email I received from the the CT DEP EnCon Police.

Gary,
Thank you for your question about handgun carry in CT State Parks and Forests.
CGS 23-4-1(c) Hunting/weapons.

Hunting or carrying of firearms, archery equipment or other weapons,
including but not limited to air rifles and slingshots, is not permitted in any
state park or forest except as authorized by the Department of Environmental
Protection. All carrying or use of weapons is subject to applicable provisions
of the Connecticut General Statutes and regulations adopted there under.
The short answer to your question is no, a CT Permit to Carry does not allow a Permit holder to carry in a State Park or Forest.

Regarding your question about the highlighted (Bold Print in this copy) sentence, this means that if a person is statutorily allowed to have a firearm in a certain Park or Forest, that person must have met all other requirements to carry such firearm. An example would be someone hunting deer where it is allowed with a shotgun could not be a convicted felon as felons are not allowed to possess firearms under CGS 53a-217.

There are some Parks and most Forests in CT where small game hunting is allowed with handguns (.22 caliber rim-fire) and a person hunting with a handgun would need a CT Permit to Carry.

Hello to all. Sorry it's been such a long time since I've been here, but I'm back. Over the summer, I took a two day tactical pistol class through S2 Institute down in St. Pete, FL. Here's the link. http://www.s2institute.com/. A buddy of mine and I originally signed up for the one day AF1 class, but due to a scheduling mishap on S2's end, they gave us the 2nd day, which then becomes the AF2 class, for free. The first day was of course the basics of sight picture, sight alignment, trigger reset, etc. Day two got into off hand shooting, one handed reloads, drawing and shooting from seated, multiple target engagement, retention drills, and getting back into a fight after a malfunction. The instructor, Mr. O'Rourke also discussed shooting from a vehicle as well as exiting a vehicle and engaging targets. He also talked about having a good first aid kit in your vehicle as well as a bag with extra mags and such. One thing that I thought was very interesting as well was that a knife is sometimes a better tool to use than a firearm. Overall, I thought it was a great class and was reasonably priced. I would highly recommend S2 Institute to anyone.

My wife and I were sitting and talking this afternoon about some silly things we remembered. Gave me an idea for a little fun here.
